THE FORGOTTEN PRISONER
About
The Forgotten Prisoner is an international humanitarian justice organization dedicated to securing sentence commutation, compassionate release, and restorative reentry support for individuals incarcerated for cannabis offenses around the world. Founded in November 2025 by American international Diplomatic negotiator Donte West, the organization is built on a guiding truth:
No human being should remain in a cell for a substance that society now acknowledges as medicine, industry, and legal commerce.
We believe that justice is not complete until every person who suffered under outdated cannabis laws is seen, heard, and reunited with their families.
Why We Fight
Across nations, prisons still hold people whose only offense was cannabis. Some:
- Live with chronic illness and are denied medical care.
- Were unaware of changing legal landscapes.
- Were targeted due to race, nationality, or poverty.
- Used cannabis as treatment when no other relief existed.
- Sit behind bars while the same product is sold legally in dispensaries, licensed by governments, and prescribed by physicians.
This is more than contradiction. This is a breach of human dignity. Freedom belongs to all — not only to those with wealth, citizenship, or legal advantage.

Our Mission
To identify, defend, and secure the release of cannabis prisoners worldwide, while building international standards of justice so that no person, in any country, is ever incarcerated again for cannabis use, possession, or medically justified treatment.
