A 25-year-old mechanic from Greiggs was found on 15 October 2025 with 84 grams of cannabis at His Majesty's Prison, according to One News St Vincent. The report names him as Rivaldo Baptiste. Police say he meant to pass it to another person.

He was arrested and charged on 16 October with possession of a controlled drug and introducing prohibited articles. He pleaded guilty the same day in Kingstown Magistrate's Court and received three months on each count, to run at the same time. The details come from a police press release.

Why it matters: The amount is small and the case was resolved in about 24 hours with a prison term. The setting, a prison, is what makes it serious, but the sentence for the drug itself is a jail term for 84 grams.
