South Sudan: Eight Arrested in Wau With Marijuana and Crystal Methamphetamine

Police say they are under investigation and will be taken to court. No quantities or names are given.

By Donte West · Oct 15, 2026

Police in Western Bahr el Ghazal State arrested eight people, six men and two women, according to Eye Radio. The suspects were allegedly in possession of marijuana (called bongo locally) and crystal methamphetamine (called ice). No quantities are given.

The police commissioner said the suspects are under investigation and will be taken to court. No suspect is named. No charge, trial or sentence is reported.

Why it matters: Eight arrests are reported without any quantities, so we can't tell whether these were users or sellers. About 14 months have passed with no follow-up.
