Police found about five tons of marijuana at a property in Konjuh, near Kruševac, in January 2026. Sources described it as the biggest seizure in Serbia. Officers also found four automatic rifles, an anti-tank launcher, ammunition and over 1.5 million dinars in cash.
The drug was reportedly stored at a company's premises and sent to Belgrade for sale. Three people were arrested as alleged members of an organised crime group, and they are to be questioned by the organised-crime prosecutor. The report identifies them only by initials, R.S., N.S. and I.D.
The prosecutor's value estimate, about 50 million euros, differs from the interior minister's, 7 to 10 million. The article does not reconcile them.
Why it matters: The value of the seizure is disputed between officials, and the three arrested have been accused as alleged members of a group, not convicted.
