The High Court postponed the hearing to 16 March 2026 because his lawyers had not received the full case file.

Fashion designer Moses Turahirwa (Moshions) was sentenced in December 2025 to one year in prison, with court fees waived, according to Umunota. He was convicted on two counts: possessing or consuming cannabis, and transporting or storing narcotic substances. The conviction came from the Intermediate Court of Nyarugenge.

He appealed on 28 December 2025. On 16 February 2026 the High Court of Nyarugenge postponed the appeal to 16 March 2026 because his lawyers had not received the full case file. He says the sentence would end in July 2026 if it stands. The amount is disputed: about 2 g per the defence, 13 pellets per the prosecution, as reported by KT Press in May 2025.

Why it matters: A one-year sentence in a case where the quantity itself is disputed. I did not find a report of the appeal decision.
