Between August 2025 and July 2026 the Nicaraguan Naval Force seized 359 kilos of marijuana, according to a report by EFE carried by La Tribuna in Honduras. Cocaine seized in the same 12 months was 351 kilos, for a total of 710 kilos of cocaine and marijuana.

Marijuana seizures over the force's 46 years total 1,907 kilos. The report was released in Managua for the Naval Force's 46th anniversary. The Army said no organized groups exist in Nicaragua and that it is not a "bodega" country for drug trafficking. The article does not give the number of people detained and names no one.

Why it matters: The figures are seizure totals from the force itself. They do not say how many people were arrested or what happened to them.
