Marshall Islands: Majuro Man Charged With Four Counts After Marijuana, Meth and Crack Are Found at His Home

Police say it is the first drug prosecution in over 18 months. He had not entered a plea.

A man from Uliga, Majuro, was charged after a police sting and a search of his home, according to The Marshall Islands Journal. The report names him as Elai Aiseia. A driver arrested for DUI in May 2024 told detectives he had bought crack from the man several times.

A search found marijuana (a bowl and several bags), methamphetamine, crack pieces and $1,109 in cash. Four counts were filed: possessing, using and selling prohibited drugs, and possessing marijuana. The article calls it the first drug prosecution in over 18 months. No plea or verdict is reported.

Why it matters: The case is mostly about harder drugs. The marijuana charge is one of four, so this is only a partial fit for a cannabis page.
