Gendarmes at the Ambohimamory-Itaosy fixed post acted on tips from residents and arrested a 25-year-old man at about 5:25 a.m. on 23 December 2025, according to Midi Madagasikara carried by AllAfrica. About 200 grams of cannabis in 14 packets was seized, along with several rolling papers.
The arrest took place in the Ambanilalana fokontany, Antananarivo Atsimondrano district. The suspect was held at the post for investigation and the case was passed to the territorial brigade. The seized drugs were sealed to be destroyed afterwards. No charge or sentence is reported.
Why it matters: Fourteen small packets and a tip from neighbours describe street-level selling, not trafficking. Where this goes next is the open question.
