Drug-control officers of the Interior Ministry searched a Bishkek resident's house during the international operation Channel - Amber Coast, according to 24.kg. About 5 kg of hashish in three bags was found in the attic.

They also found 13 cultivated cannabis bushes weighing 175 g in total and a further 110 g of cannabis. The man is identified only by the initials A.N.P. and birth year 1987. A criminal case was opened for illegal production of narcotics with intent to sell, and samples went for forensic examination.

Why it matters: The kilogram quantities put this above personal use. Cultivation counts as production in the charge.
