Two men appeared in a Mombasa court over a truck allegedly carrying 333.35 kg of cannabis, worth about KSh 10 million. The alleged offence dates to 19 June 2026 near Mariakani, Kilifi County.
Anti-narcotics detectives stopped the truck and trailer and found nine sacks of dry plant material. Samples were sent to the Government Chemist for analysis. The report names the men as Paul Ogolla Ogutu, also called Ogola, and Emmanuel Ndoro Chaka, also called Ndoro, as printed in the source. The headline describes them as a Tanzanian driver and a Kenyan.
Both denied a trafficking charge. Prosecutors opposed bail, citing flight risk, and the case was set for mention on 2 July 2026.
Why it matters: Both men deny the charge, and the lab analysis of the samples was still pending when this was reported.
