Revenue officers seized about 11.65 kg of suspected cannabis herb in West Dublin, valued at around €163,000. The operation involved the Garda drugs bureau, Serious Crime South, a divisional drugs unit and Revenue.

Gardaí arrested a woman in her 30s. She was held at a Dublin Metropolitan Region Garda station under drug-trafficking detention powers. The substance still has to be confirmed by forensic analysis, and investigations are ongoing.

She is not named. This was announced in a Garda press release on 1 September 2026.

Why it matters: The release says the substance is only suspected cannabis until forensic analysis confirms it, and the woman is a suspect, not a convicted person.
