The Indiana Board of Pharmacy reviewed a federal marijuana rescheduling notice and took no action, the Indiana Capital Chronicle reported in May 2026. Indiana law requires the board to review any finalized federal change and decide whether to object.

Sen. Mike Bohacek plans a 2027 bill to legalize medical marijuana, not recreational use. Gov. Mike Braun signaled openness to discussion in April 2026. A Senate-approved hemp THC crackdown bill died before the 2026 session ended.

Why it matters: Indiana has no legal cannabis market or expungement route covered here, so people with convictions are not affected by any of this yet.
