Grenada's Governor-General gave assent to the Drug Abuse (Prevention and Control) Amendment Act, 2026, on 6 March 2026, according to a Ministry of Agriculture press release carried by NOW Grenada. The Act was published in the Government Gazette on 20 February 2026.

Adults may possess up to 56 g of cannabis and 15 g of resin for personal and religious use, and may grow up to four plants after registering with the Cannabis Secretariat and the Ministry of Agriculture. Rastafari sacramental use is recognised. Public use and use near schools remain banned, with EC$300 fixed penalty notices. Grenada is in Phase I; Phase II will set up a regulated industry framework.

Why it matters: The limits and the registration step are written into the law. A separate NOW Grenada item from 12 February 2026 says existing laws stay enforceable until the new law is brought into operation, and the date of commencement was not confirmed.
