Military police (Einguella brigade) dismantled a network accused of trafficking and selling cannabis in Balbala, Djibouti City, according to Dawan Africa citing Radio Télévision de Djibouti. The operation traced the network to a storage site in the Balbala Wahledaba area.

Eighty-eight packages of cannabis, 12 kg in total, were seized, valued at about 1.76 million Djiboutian francs (roughly USD 9,900). Several suspects at different levels of the network were arrested and are in temporary detention. The drugs were handed to judicial authorities and the suspects are to appear in court.

Why it matters: The network is described as multi-level, so some of those arrested may be low-level sellers. No names or charges are reported.
