A 32-year-old Spanish woman was detained at Zagreb airport on 21 July 2026 during random checks after she landed. Almost 15 kg of vacuum-packed marijuana was found in her suitcase.

Zagreb police confirmed the case and suspect she brought the drug in to sell it. According to the report, which was published in Slovenia, the investigation is complete. She is in pretrial detention and charged with drug dealing.

The report does not name her. No verdict has been reported.

Why it matters: The checks that found the drug were random, not tipped off. Anyone landing in Croatia can be stopped and have a bag opened.
