About 11.9 kg of cannabis was seized at Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport, Hahaya, on Saturday 18 July 2026, according to La Gazette des Comores. Two men, aged 25 and 32 and from Ngazidja, were held; they are described as fathers.

Police finished their preliminary inquiry within the legal custody period and sent the file to the Moroni prosecutor. A judicial investigation is expected and others may be questioned. The paper says an earlier seizure of about 30 kg at the same airport happened a few weeks before.

Why it matters: Two young fathers face a trafficking-scale file. The paper reports the cases as part of a run of airport seizures.
