Carabineros' OS7 drug unit and prosecutors say they dismantled a drug-trafficking group in April 2026. Nine foreign nationals, Colombian and Bolivian, aged 23 to 50, were detained.

About 272 kg of marijuana was seized, along with four vehicles, twelve phones and cash. The operations took place in the Atacama region and the Metropolitan Region between 12 and 14 April 2026.

The detainees were due at a detention control hearing on 16 April. The outcome is not reported, and none of them is named.

Why it matters: The report gives only the police account and does not say what happened at the hearing, so no one in the group has been found guilty.
