They were arrested in June 2025 and convicted by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court in February 2026.

Two British men, aged 41 and 28, were arrested on 17 June 2025 at Phnom Penh International Airport. About 19.9 kg of dried cannabis was seized.

On 24 February 2026, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court gave its verdict. The report names the men as Robert Brown, who received 14 years, and Hogg Jordan James, who received 10 years. They were also fined a combined 24 million riels, about US$6,000. Names are as printed in the source.

Why it matters: The sentences were reported in years, not months, for a cannabis amount of just under 20 kg, and the case took about eight months from arrest to verdict.
